At SVK Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation Services, we are committed to providing holistic, patient-centered care that focuses on restoring movement, reducing pain, and improving quality of life. Our Story

Founded in 2002 in Area 12, Lilongwe, SVK Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation Services was established by a Pioneering Malawian physiotherapist Sylvia Kambalametore. At a time when physiotherapy services in the private sector were virtually nonexistent in Malawi, SVK became the country’s first private physiotherapy institution, setting a new standard for rehabilitation and patient care.

For more than a decade, the clinic remained at the forefront of the profession, trailblazing the growth of private physiotherapy services in Malawi and inspiring the emergence of other rehabilitation centers in the early 2010s. Through its unwavering commitment to professionalism, innovation, and patient-centered care, SVK earned a reputation as a trusted leader in physiotherapy and rehabilitation.

By the late 2010s, the clinic had grown into a fully-fledged physiotherapy and rehabilitation center featuring two fully equipped rehabilitation gyms with treatment rooms, a dedicated examination and treatment suite, administrative offices, and modern patient amenities designed to support comprehensive care.

Most importantly, SVK had firmly established itself as a beacon of excellence within Malawi’s physiotherapy profession, dedicated to delivering effective, evidence-based rehabilitation services not only to the people of Lilongwe, but to patients across the nation.
